Natryl Instincts: Goji Berries

Goji berries; lycium barbarum, are a fruit that grow on an evergreen shrub found in China, Mongolia, the Himalayas, and Tibet. Although they have been consumed for over six thousand years, they are just recently gaining popularity in the states as an antioxidant-rich super fruit.
Goji berries' contributions to the human body are truly amazing. Some benefits include, but are not limited to, liver protection, improvement in eyesight, sexual function and fertility, leg strengthening, improved circulation, and enhanced immune function.
This truly blessed berry does all of this and more. It is an overall longevity promoter! What could be more promising than that?

The tangy berries are most commonly eaten dried and have a similar texture to raisins. Their flavor is a bit sweet, and a bit sour. I enjoy them with yogurt, fruit, and nuts. They most definitely can be eaten alone, as well. Sometimes, I add a hand full to water and enjoy the berries in a softened state after consuming the water.
The berries are dehydrated and raw (they may also be found juiced). Therefore, they are appropriate for all diet restrictions. I would advise not to cook them, as this would diminish their potency.
Enjoy a handful of goji berries today, and every day. Your body will most assuredly thank you.
