As promised in yesterday's post, here is the recipe for the
"Sweet & Spicy Salad".
This beautiful dish was created using different layers of spicy greens and flowers. The sweet dressing balances this robust mix.
Ingredients
1 bunch of fresh harvested arugula
1c. fresh harvested nasturtium flowers
1/8c. nasturtium tubers (stems), diced
6 nasturtium leaves, stacked, sliced, & diced
1c. organic cherry tomatoes
1/4c. raw sunflower seeds
1/4c. olive oil
1T. Dijon mustard
1T. honey or agave nectar
1/2 lemon, juiced
Salt & pepper, to taste
Layer all the salad ingredients in a bowl. In a separate dish, mix the dressing. Dress the salad, toss, and enjoy!
Variation: Add Gorgonzola or fresh Parmesan cheese with fresh sliced pears.
