Natryl Instincts: Body Brushing

Ever walk through the health & beauty isle of a store and wonder exactly what these long handled brushes are used for?

At first glance, one would think that they are simply back scrubbers. Indeed, they are. However, the natural bristled body brush is also so much more. It is a major tool and ali to the entire body, inside and out.
The brush may be used to lather and exfoliate while bathing. However, its true benefits are experienced during "dry" brushing.

As the skin is the largest organ of elimination, dry brushing greatly aids in the detoxification process of the whole body by stimulating the lymphatic system.

Other benefits may include, but are not limited to, exfoliation, cell-renewal, cellulite repair, nerve stimulation, muscle tone, detoxification, and of course, beautiful-toned skin.

Dry brushing , ideally, should be done every day before bathing. Starting with the bottoms of the feet and reaching all the way up to the neck. Always brush in an upward motion toward the heart. For, this is how the lymphatic system flows. The abdomen may be brushed in circles starting on the lower right and swept up and over. Thus, stimulating digestion.

It is imperative that a natural bristled brush be used, as opposed to a synthetic material.

Each section of the body should be brushed at least twenty times, or until the skin reddens. This may seem harsh at first, but your skin will adapt and ultimately thank you.

Here's to your health!
